Acquiesce is a modified Virtuoso-class Fleet Auxiliary, converted into a Watch-ship by Felix Geltz and his allies during the Lawsonite Insurrection. As part of these modifications, she became the first Alliance warship to be fitted with a Yundari Smart AI, and to this day Acquiesce remains the most intelligent ship in the Reunification Navy.
Early Service Life
Acquiesce was commissioned in 3320 as the fourth ship in her class, designed to serve as a multi-role fleet auxiliary to support small-scale high-endurance enforcement operations. She was initially assigned to the Primary Fleet at Hadley Station, and spent two years there on work-up, lending her Factory Module to assist the still-infant orbital where necessary.
She was then assigned to the Exploration Board, conducting replenishment and covering operations on the fringes of known space. The jewel in this part of her career was her participation in Expedition Greene-Lorvett, though she spent almost the entirety of the three-year deployment as part of the main column.
In 3346, with the Fleet Modernisation Initiative in full swing, the old form of the fleet auxiliary was deemed obsolete, in favour of a focus entirely on combat multi-roles and dedicated support vessels. At 26 years old, and lacking a modern Ship AI, Acquiesce was moved to the Fleet Reserve at Hadley, and spent the next eleven years being slowly stripped for parts, with only her engines and reactors left meaningfully intact.
Sixth Kharak-Ghar War Service
Tensions with the Kharak-Ghar were ramping up again by the mid-3350s, and in 3357 Acquiesce was re-activated to support a new battlegroup being prepared for forward-deployment to the frontier. She was refitted with a new AI, updated weapons, and a modified Factory Module, and in 3359 she began her shakedown cruise in the Pietersen Reaches.
This was cut short with the outbreak of war in 3360, with Acquiesce immediately reassigned to support Task Force Juno, one of several Land Assault Groups being surged into the frontiers. She saw combat in the Arven Campaign (3362-64), forming part of the screening force covering Juno’s descent towards the planet and firing missiles in anger for the first time in her 42-year service life. She was subsequently damaged in the cataclysmic Arven Deep-Space Action, and spent the rest of the war on second-line duty waiting for a repair birth to become available.
Post War
When the war ended in 3368, Acquiesce had received only short-term repairs, and it was ultimately decided that she was not worth returning to service, especially as one of only three surviving examples of her type. Her AI was retired from service in 3369, and she was listed for scrap in 3370.
In 3371, now waiting for death in the breakers yard, Acquiesce was saved by her newfound involvement in an Alliance programme to curry favour with external entities by selling them old warships. The idea was the outdated ships would prove useful foreign exchange with non-aligned powers. She was subsequently purchased by the Tourist Board of High Atlantic, in return for an agreement to cease their human trafficking operations.
Acquiesce was prepared and refitted, and entered into service with the High Atlantic Orbital Protection Force in 3372. In 3376 she was involved in an orbital collision with a starliner that saw both captains censured and imprisoned for negligence, and returned to the yards for repairs. Money ran out a year later, leaving her with a fully repaired hull and functioning drive system, but without any updates or repairs to her weapons suite. She was thus repurposed as a floating Factory Module by the Tourist Board, and put up for sale on the private market.
Watch Service
In 3378, Acquiesce was purchased by Dr Patrick Hargreaves, a private buyer living on High Atlantic. However, the Tourist Board refused to release the ship following the sale.
Later that year, a heist crew led by disgraced Watchman Felix Geltz stormed the ship and seized her. They successfully evaded authorities and jumped to Yundar, where the ship underwent a hasty refit that saw her fitted with a new and highly advanced form of Ship AI.
In 3380, the Acquiesce played a prominent role in the Battle of Yundar, sustaining significant damage in the engagement. She was only saved from the scrapyard by the personal pull of Geltz, now reinstated as a Watchman, who intended to user her as his primary ship.
Returned to service in 3381, she has served as Geltz’s flagship ever since, making up lost time for her uneventful early career.
