Rahzell Yalsom is a former Safariland hunter, now working for the 3rd Street Mafia as one of their premier enforcers. He has quickly become one of the most feared gangers in Neo-Atlantica, working as the right-hand-man of the equally infamous Caesar Chiarodia.
Yalsom was born into one of the self-exiled Free Safariland Tribes, and grew up living off the land. Throughout his childhood he was always hungry, and by the age of five he was contributing important labour to the survival of his tribe. At fourteen he was inducted as a hunter, and soon proved one of the tribe’s most capable fighters, despite his youth. He enjoyed the prestige this brought him, and lived as one of his group’s premier providers for more than a decade.
However, in 3365, an encounter with a crashed shuttle exposed Yalsom to the realities of modern technology, and he became disillusioned with the tribe’s self-imposed exile. He gathered his few personal possessions and snuck off in the night to seek his fortune in one of the big cities of the tribe’s folklore, now seeing the enormous potential in those ‘godless places where brother kills brother’.
He eventually reached the port city of Niovi, where he was awed by the towering buildings and blinded by the neon lights. However, he soon heard tales of an even larger city, where opportunities were endless for the enterprising freelancer. With his heart taken by these stories, he began taking odd jobs around the board to pay for passage to Neo-Atlantica, and despite his naivety and inexperience with modern life he soon began to gain a reputation as a potent fighter when correctly supervised.
Yalsom arrived in Neo-Atlantica in 3367, and since then has never been short of work. In 3370, he met an aspiring 3rd Street Uncle called Caesar Chiarodia, who saw great potential in him, and the two soon formed a highly successful partnership. Yalsom thereby played a significant role in 3rd Street’s takeover of Twelfth Street, cementing himself as a prominent member of the organisation.
Abilities
Yalsom’s harsh early life shaped him into a savage and imposing man, utterly relentless and willing to do almost anything to survive. He is particularly adept in hand-to-hand combat, having famously wrestled a fierce Welcan into submission when he was just seventeen, but is also capable with all manner of other melee weapons. His aptitude with firearms is somewhat lesser, given they are a rather new concept to him, but his outstanding eyesight, reflexes, and body control are a natural gift and he is therefore a more than competent marksman.
Unlike many Safarilanders, Yalsom spurns Genetic Enhancements, believing his natural strength is more than enough to bring victory against any opponent. He is generally right, given his stealthiness, cunning, and skill. He is also an intimidating figure, tall and almost feral-looking, which is a significant advantage when collecting protection money or shaking down terrified tourists.
