The Castle-class was a class of two battlecruisers built for the Reunification Navy between 3371 and 3375. They were the second class of battlecruisers to be acquired, with design and construction work starting in earnest after the Sixth Kharak-Ghar War, having been suspended during the conflict in favour of a focus on more established capabilities and more pressing needs.
In the end only two ships were produced due to post-war cutbacks and the already bloated nature of the fleet following wartime acquisitions. This marked a temporary end to the Battlecruiser Programme, though the project would be revived in 3394 with the development of the Constellation-class.
