The Audacious-class was a class of three battlecruisers built for the Reunification Navy between 3352 and 3361 as part of the Battlecruiser Programme, a component of the wider Fleet Modernisation Initiative.
While the Battlecruiser Programme was suspended for the duration of the Sixth Kharak-Ghar War, the Audacious-class proved to be a successful design, thanks primarily to its impressive jump range, and consequently excellent strategic mobility. This meant that despite their tactical inflexibility, the ships were a very mobile source of heavy naval firepower that could respond quickly to emerging threats.
